Policy
The Journal of Psychology, Health, and Social Challenges (JPHSC) is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of published research for the benefit of the scientific community and society at large. To achieve this goal, the journal has established the following archiving policy:
- Digital Archiving: JPHSC utilizes digital archiving solutions to preserve published articles in a secure and accessible format. The journal employs reputable digital archiving platforms or repositories that comply with recognized standards for long-term preservation, such as CLOCKSS, Portico, and PubMed Central.
- Open Access Archiving: JPHSC supports open access archiving to enhance the dissemination and accessibility of research findings. The journal encourages authors to deposit their accepted manuscripts in institutional or disciplinary repositories, subject to copyright and licensing agreements. Additionally, JPHSC may offer archived articles under Creative Commons licenses to facilitate broader reuse and distribution.
- DOI Assignment: Each published article in JPHSC is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to provide a persistent and unique identifier. DOIs ensure the permanent identification and reliable linkage to archived versions of articles, enabling continued access and citation over time.
- Content Versioning: JPHSC maintains version control of published content to track any updates, corrections, or retractions. Archived versions of articles are preserved alongside relevant metadata to document the scholarly record accurately.
- Migration and Format Conversion: JPHSC regularly monitors technological advancements and evolving archiving standards to ensure the compatibility and usability of archived content. The journal may employ migration strategies and format conversions as necessary to safeguard against obsolescence and ensure the continued accessibility of archived articles.
- Data Archiving: In accordance with best practices in scientific research, JPHSC encourages authors to deposit supporting data, code, and supplementary materials in trusted data repositories. Archiving data associated with published articles enhances transparency, reproducibility, and the long-term usability of research findings.
- Accessibility and Permissions: JPHSC strives to balance the preservation of archived content with the rights and permissions of authors and copyright holders. Access to archived articles may be subject to subscription or open access policies, depending on the journal's publishing model and agreements with content contributors.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: JPHSC collaborates with relevant stakeholders, including libraries, archives, and scholarly organizations, to strengthen its archiving infrastructure and promote sustainable preservation practices. The journal actively seeks partnerships with initiatives that advance the accessibility and longevity of scientific literature.
