Abstract

Across the globe, street children are a huge problem. Although this evil exists due to so many factors, the most important contributing factor is economic position. The economic position plays an important role in society because if better the economic position is, the better would be the schooling of the children. This study was conducted to know the impacts of economic on street children. Data for the present study were collected from 223 respondents from various Child Protection Centres in Peshawar city. Regarding economic factor, the results showed a significant association of children on the street with due to less economic opportunity for poor families the children’s become streetwise. Similarly, their parents were unemployed, therefore their parents were not capable to support their children's educational expenditures. The study recommends that government needs to ensure the rights of all children and design sustainable programs which ensure the solution of the social phenomena.
