Abstract

Environmental justice is a concept that emphasizes fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income concerning the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. Marginalized communities, including but not limited to low-income neighborhoods and communities of color, often bear a disproportionate burden of environmental hazards and lack adequate access to environmental benefits. This paper explores the implications of environmental justice for marginalized communities, examining key issues, challenges, and potential solutions.
